Provisional Psychologist

Compassionate collaboration for healing and self-discovery.

Daniel Novikov, Provisional Psychologist at Soma + Soul Practice

About Me

My Approach

I am a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming Provisional Psychologist. I believe that healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating a deeper connection to oneself.

My work is grounded in the understanding that trauma, stress, and lived experiences are held deeply within both the mind and the body. At Soma + Soul, I combine traditional therapeutic insights with somatic (body-centered) awareness to help you foster the inner safety needed to explore your story.

Exploration of the human spirit has always moved me. I am endlessly curious about the threads that weave our lives together—the experiences that shape us and the stories we tell ourselves. By understanding your journey together, we can begin to step toward a more peaceful, balanced, and integrated existence.

My Story & Background

My path to this work was forged through nearly a decade of walking alongside children and young people navigating complex childhood trauma. In those spaces of significant adversity, I learned a fundamental truth: even in the midst of deep chaos, a safe, reliable, and compassionate connection has the power to help us rewrite our stories.

Today, I passionately bring my whole self to this work — my empathy, authenticity, patience, and a deep belief in the transformative power of being truly seen.

When I am not in the clinic, I find my own grounding and connection through surfing, snowboarding, yoga, and meditation. I work fluently in English, Russian, and Spanish, and deeply value the richness of cultural diversity.

Who I Work With

As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent adult, I strive to create a space that honours your unique lived experience. I view therapy as a true collaboration, offering a grounded, judgment-free environment where your emotional and somatic world can be explored with curiosity.

I am passionate about supporting young people (16+) and adults navigating:

  • Complex and relational trauma, including insecure attachment and relationship challenges
  • Neurodivergent lived experiences as well as supporting parents navigating the unique joys and challenges of raising neurodivergent children
  • Chronic stress, anxiety, and nervous system burnout
  • Somatic symptoms, bodily distress, and difficulties with emotional regulation

How We Can Work Together

I offer a supportive, confidential space tailored to your needs. In accordance with AHPRA guidelines, my practice is fully supported by ongoing clinical supervision and advanced postgraduate training. As a Provisional Psychologist, I engage in my own therapy alongside ongoing professional development to continuously evolve my practice.

100% Telehealth: All sessions are conducted securely online, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space, Australia-wide.
